6 tips overcoming the devil voice when exercise

Hei guys, sometimes I just don’t feel like hitting the gym.Not because I’m too tire or no time to exercise,but the voice that is inside my brain ,I call it the devil voice.The most important thing that I learn to overcome this devil is to first recognize and admit it is just the devil voice that is doing the trick.We can’t change what we do not know.Below is the action I take to shut down the devil voice:

1) Workout in the morning before work

If I’m not doing coaching, 6-7am is the time I’m hitting the gym.
2) Empty your mind

When im training in the morning, after getting up , the next 2 things I do is, brush my teeth ,get changed and hit the gym.This is to prevent myself from thinking too much and finding excuses whether should I go to the gym or not.
3) Wearing sports gears

So far this is one of the best solution.I wear my training shirt ,pants, and socks when i sleep.This is to tell my brain that I’m ready to exercise.Sounds weird?Try it ,it works!
4) Pre-plan and stop thinking

Everyday before I hit the day, I will have a plan on what am I going to do.And I will not replan or change my routine .This is to prevent me from dropping into the devil’s trap again by hustling myself in replanning and cancel my training session at the end of the day.
5) Short and sweet

My typical workout duration is between 30minutes -45 minutes.I find that this is the best duration that I can focus on .
6) Keep your phone inside the locker

Every time when I workout ,either I leave my phone inside the car or inside my locker.I find it too distracted with the watsap ,FB or whatever notification that I’m getting.

Your Weight Loss Programme Need These To Work .

Without these five elements in your weight loss programme ,you are not going to be the biggest loser.

  1. Train Your Big Muscle,such as legs,chest,back and shoulder.

They burn more calories than smaller muscles and are also involved in many more movements and functions than smaller muscles.Movement such as lunges,squats ,push up ,deadlift etc are great for fat burning.

2. High Intensity

The afterburn effect is known as EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) is able to  increase your metabolism and burn more calories for up to 24 hours after high-intensity interval training.

  3. Consistency

Being consistent in exercise every week(suggestion:4 times a week) by using these 5 elements is very important in yielding great weight loss result.

     4. Low Intensity

While high-intensity workout is good, however, a low-intensity workout is also important .While high-intensity cardio is able to burn more calories, low intensity is able to burn more fats.Beside that ,according to research,a mixture of high and low-intensity workout is a great combination that not only gives good weight-loss result but also to prevent joint and muscle overuse.

5. Progression

Common sense folks.If you have been doing the same routine ,with the same speed ,reps or weight for months,your body have probably adapted to your workout plan, and that is bad.Tuning your programme by playing around the variable such as rest period and repetitions.

8 Proven Principles of Successful Weight Loss Goal Setting.

Setting the right goal using the right principles is the first step to success.

1) Specify the nature of the task(s) to be accomplished (i.e.,write a job description).Thus may be done in terms of work outcomes and /or in terms of work actions or behaviours.
2) Specify how performance is to be measured.
3) Specify the standard or target to be aimed for in quantitative terms based either on directly measured output or a Behavioral Observation Scale.Make the goal challenging ,that is difficult but attainable.
4) Specify the time span involved.
5) If there are multiple goals ,rank them in terms of importance or priority.get a consensus on this ranking.
6) If necessary ,rate each goal quantitatively as to importance (priority and difficulty.To measure overall performance , multiply importance by difficulty by degree of goal attainment,and then sum the products.
7) Determine the coordination requirements (especially lateral) for goal achievement. If the tasks are highly interdependent, use group goals. If group goals are used, be sure to develop a means of measuring each individual’s contribution to the group’s product.The goals should be modified only if employees clearly lack the ability or knowledge needed to reach them or when substantial changes in the job situation have occurred.

EMS or electronic muscle stimulation is hitting the fitness industry .EMS pretty much does 4 things that listed on below diagram.

Does electronic muscle stimulation burn fat ?According a result from ACE -“After eight weeks of EMS “training,” subjects experienced no significant changes in weight, body-fat percentage, strength or overall appearance.”

For decades, most nutrition professionals have told us over and over that weight depends on calories in and calories out. Nutrient-dense foods include whole-grain foods; vegetables; fruits; lean meat, poultry, fish and seafood, eggs and cooked dry beans; and skim or low-fat milk foods. Also keep in mind that research has shown that including animal protein foods in a weight-loss diet helps to preserve lean muscle tissue while fat is lost.

Eggs are one of the highest quality protein sources and also supply varying amounts of numerous other nutrients, all for only 75 calories per Large egg. In addition to being quick and easy to prepare, nutrient-dense eggs go very well with the whole-grain foods, veggies and fruits that you need. For example, an Open-Faced Spinach Omelet Sandwich is a flavorful, well-balanced combo that needs only a serving of fruit and low-fat milk to make a hearty, healthful meal any time of day.

I use to cook everything with eggs when i was studying overseas, tuna with eggs, chicken breast with eggs, fried rice with ONLY eggs, fried vegetable with eggs, soup with eggs and lots of eggssssssssssssssssssssssssss…

Let me just share with you one of the eggs recipe that i love the most ,the spinach omelet sandwich,because it is easy and short time to prepare.

Open-Faced Spinach Omelet Sandwich

(4 servings)

4 cups fresh whole baby spinach leaves or chopped large spinach leaves (about 6 oz.)

1 tablespoon water

4 eggs

1/2 cup low-fat (1%) cottage cheese

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, crushed

1 (8- to 9-inch) plain, tomato or herb-seasoned focaccia bread, split crosswise (about 5 oz.)

4 tomato slices
Evenly coat 10-inch omelet pan or skillet with spray. Add spinach and water. Cover. Cook over medium heat until spinach is wilted, about 1 minute. Pour out liquid, if necessary. In medium bowl, beat together eggs, cheese and seasoning until blended. Pour over spinach mixture. Gently stir to evenly distribute mixture in pan. Cover. Cook over medium heat until egg mixture is almost set, about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand, covered, until egg mixture is completely set, about 2 to 3 minutes. With pancake turner or spatula, slide frittata from pan onto bottom half of bread. Top with tomato slices and top half of bread. To serve, cut into wedges.
Nutrition information per serving of 1/4 recipe using baby spinach and plain focaccia bread: 217 calories, 8 gm total fat, 216 mg cholesterol, 448 mg sodium, 121 mg potassium, 23 gm carbohydrate, 15 gm protein and 10% or more of the RDI for vitamins A, B12 and C, riboflavin, calcium, iron, phosphorus, dietary fiber.Train Dirty & Eat Clean.Peace 🙂

More and more Malaysian are getting health and fitness conscious these days. Aside from issues about vanity, overall health reasons make people find and hire services of personal trainers. In general, personal trainers are fitness professionals who are experts in exercise science and are using that mastery to guide and educate clients toward lasting physical fitness improvements.

Ideally, personal trainers should be properly educated to get into the profession. They should at least be possess necessary professional certifications from standard and well-respected physical health organizations .

It usually takes time and effort to find and hire competent trainers. But the payoff is surely worth it.For example, when i was studying my Personal Trainer certification back in New Zealand Institute of Sport , we have to at least work at the gym( i worked at New Zealand’s Johnsonville CityFitness‎ ) as interrn for 3 months as a fitness instructor after i passed my exam ,in order to fully qualified as a personal trainer.The whole personal trainer education journey take me about 13 months.

Here are several practical tips that could help you find and hire the best, most qualified, and most competent personal trainers in the country:

Ask any recommendation from your personal physician. Be aware that although most doctors you know could be very knowledgeable about physical exercise guidelines, not all could readily offer expertise to prescribe specific exercises and programs for specific patients or clients.

Make sure you would be getting all your money’s worth. Personal trainers’ services could be considered as significant investments. On the average, training sessions charge about RM100 to RM250every hour. That is not easy money, so it is just right that you ensure you are fully getting your hard-earned money’s worth. Ask any trainer if he could offer several extra minutes for free. If a personal trainer is unapproachable for discussing such perks, go find another.

Do a basic background-check about your personal trainer. Check his education background.Make sure he has an appropriate certification.If he/she has a third-party verification and certification for his skills and knowledge, it would be better.

Meet the personal trainer and engage him even in a short talk so you could gauge his interpersonal skills. Find one who is making you comfortable and who could make you understand more. Remember, you are looking for a trustworthy and credible personal trainer.

Evaluate yourself and determine if you have specific personal requirements for personal trainers. You might not be comfortable working out with a professional who is coming from the opposite sex. You might also not work well with a trainer who is much younger or much older than yourself.

How much do i have to pay for a membership at Absolute Fitness?
Our membership fees vary depending on the type of plan that is best suited for you. Please visit your preferred club and our friendly staff will be happy to discuss in full detail to you our membership plans based on your needs and lifestyle.
Do I have access to all the other Absolute Fitness clubs in Penang?
Yes. We have the best membership deals in town that allows you to visit different clubs of Absolute Fitness with no additional costs. When you join one club, you join all!
Can I put my membership on hold when I am unable to visit the club?
Membership freezing at Absolute Fitness will only be for periods no shorter than 60 days. Please refer to our Front Desk for more information.
Can I bring a guest with me to the club?
Nothing makes us happier than having our members referring and bringing in friends/family to our clubs. You may bring any number of guests into our club for a one-day complimentary pass by having them register at the Front Desk. If the same guest would like to make a second visit, he/she may purchase our one-day pass or better – become a member!
What are the opening hours of Absolute Fitness?
We open from 8.30am-11pm on weekdays, 10am-10pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Started out as various splinter groups/individuals, everyone cycling within the vicinity of Putra Perdana, Amanputra, Nusaputra and Cyberjaya, we have now gathered more than 60 members, some as far as Kota Damansara.

Be it for fun, recreational, keeping fit or even adrenaline junkie, we all came together and made this happened. Via our official communications channel PP Cyclists @ Facebook, we have managed to organize weekly rides with an average crowd of 20 per ride.

Coming from totally diverse backgrounds, each one had a common interest. CYCLING!
