Internet has been one of the biggest invention after the light bulb by sir Thomas Edison .Internet has changed the way we buy and sells things, the way we book a room , the way we meet our other half , the way we exercise and also the way people harassing and bully others.I definitely believe that the born of the cyber area is great and need to be recorded in the history of human , however , nothing is perfect . Some of the in-ethical people misused internet to harass others .

Cyberbully is one of the common act of misused on the internet . Cyberbullying can be define as according to psychology.wikia.com

“  the use of electronic information and communication devices such as e-mail, instant messaging, text messages, blogs, mobile phones, pagers, and defamatory websites to bully or otherwise harass an individual or group through personal attacks or other means, and it may constitute a computer crime. “

There are alot of cyberbullying going on in the society

some of the famous cyberbullying will be the  The Ryan Halligan Case (1989 – 2003)

Ryan’s is a underdevelop child . He has problem with speech, language and motor skills development , and this led him to receive special education starting from pre-school all the way to fourth grade. Due to Ryan’s academic and physical under develop, this made him the target of bullying at school . The worst thing is that he got prank into thinking the girl that he likes , also liked him back . The girl and her friends later prank Ryan into sharing more embarrsing material through AOL Instand Messenger(AIM). And the girl later copied and pasted those embarring material into AIM exchanges with her friends . Unfortunately On October 7, 2003, Ryan hanged himself in the family bathroom.

Another popular cyberbullying case is the case of Jessica Logan (1990 – 2008) and Hope Witsell (1996 – 2009)

 This incident happens when Jessica Logan was an 18-year-old Sycamore High School who sent nude photo of herself to her boyfriend, but the photo was sent instead , to hundreds of teenagers in at least seven Cincinnati-area high schools after the couple broke up.This doesnt stop just here.The  cyber bullying continued through Facebook, MySpace and text messages. Jessica hanged herself after attending the funeral of another boy who had committed suicide.

42% of kids have been bullied while online. One in four have had it happen more than once.
35% of kids have been threatened online. Nearly one in five had had it happen more than once.
21% of kids have received mean or threatening e-mails or other messages.
58% of kids admit someone has said mean or hurtful things to them online. More than four out of ten say it has happened more than once.
58% have not told their parents or an adult about something mean or hurtful that happened to them online.
A 2006 survey by Harris Interactive[12] reported:

43% of U.S. teens having experienced some form of cyber-bullying in the past year.
Similarly, a Canadian study found:

23% of middle-schoolers surveyed had been bullied by e-mail
35% in chat rooms
41% by text messages on their cell phones
Fully 41% did not know the identity of the perpetrators.
